What is good writing?
Don’t think sesquipedalia

Think the opposite.
Master the KISS Principle.
Readers will thank you.

Always Keep Your Fork by Ms. Jordan Bomse

Always Keep Your Fork

"Always keep your fork" she said
The best is yet to come
You'll never know what you'll decide
Or what will be left

Get a little of everythin
Just so you don't have to choose
"Hurry 'fore it's all gone" she'd say
As everyone scurried into the kitchen

"Come and get it" she hollered
As everyone jumped up
With their fork in hand
Scrambling for their favorite dessert

"Well that was quick" she'd say, a smile from ear to ear
Reminding everyone there was still plenty
And to always keep their fork
Cause the best was yet to come

MDC Wins at PBL State Leadership Conference by Janelle Jimenez

Miami Dade College students win numerous awards at Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) State Leadership Conference and advance to the National Leadership Conference in Chicago, Illinois.

Silence fills the room as the Master of Ceremony announces competition ranks, “5th place… 4th place…3rdplace…2nd place…” Moments after, 1st place is called. The light gleams on my face and just like that my smile transforms from worried to ecstatic and I transform from ordinary to extraordinary. The crowd goes wild. The letters “M. D. C." are chanted and heard all across Orlando, Florida.
Being a part of this experience was absolutely breathtaking. FBLA-PBL is a nation wide organization that stands for Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda. Miami Dade College-North Campus entered 22 students in the state leadership conference. After all of our hard work and endless amounts of studying, our chapter has the opportunity to take 18 hardworking students to the National Leadership Conference in Chicago, where we will compete against the entire nation in the 50th anniversary of FBLA-PBL!
